Helping the under-served become over-served through community-based healthcare equity.
We strive to share the benefits and applications of telehealth with the world. Many marginalized populations face access issues in their local communities, including urban, rural and frontier communities. Through telehealth, providers and patients can have the flexibility required to cover their health needs. In parallel, advocating for the continued expansion of internet services to rural and local communities will be an ongoing effort.
As defined by the National Telehealth Resource Center, telehealth encompasses four distinct domains of applications. These are commonly known as:
Live Videoconferencing (Synchronous)
Store-and-Forward (Asynchronous)
Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM)
Mobile Health (mHealth)
As outlined by health.gov Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) are the conditions in the environments where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks. Telehealth is one powerful tool to circumvent SDOH to improve overall health outcomes for the long term.
#TelehealthFirst is a movement to support access to care when and where an individual needs it. Through telehealth, we can reduce barriers and improve health.
